Local Rules

Mont Cascades Local Rules - Ottawa Golf

The rules of the R.C.G.A. shall apply.

  1. A maximum of four players are permitted per group.
  2. All players must have their own clubs.
  3. All players must respect the allowable time for designated for pace of play.
  4. It is forbidden to drive power carts in areas designated as Conservation Areas.
  5. Alcoholic beverages not purchased on the premises are not allowed and will be confiscated.
  6. Metal golf spikes are no longer permitted for use on the golf course.
  7. Electric golf cars are not to be operated by anyone without a valid driver’s license.
  8. Lateral hazards are defined by red stakes.
  9. Water hazards are defined by yellow stakes.
  10. Out of bounds are defined by white stakes.

PACE OF PLAY

The Rules of Golf require that a player must play without undue delay (Rule 6-7). For the purpose of preventing slow play, Golf Mont Cascades, in accordance with Rule 6-7, has adopted the following pace of play guideline:

  1. In order to ensure that all of our patrons enjoy their day, a maximum of 4 hours and 35 minutes (2 hours and 15 minutes for the front nine, 5 minutes between nines, and 2 hours and 15 minutes for the back nine) is allowed for an eighteen hole round of golf. In order to help all golfers to adhere to this rule, we put the emphasis on you the golfer and ask you to meet your rendezvous points on time. These points are strategically positioned time clocks positioned on holes #3, #5, #8, #11, #14 and #16, and all of these times correspond to your initial tee-off time which is written on your score card at the beginning of your round by the starter. If for any reason your group gets out of position, the on-course Guest Assistants will kindly ask you to get back into position.
  2. Do not spend more than 5 minutes looking for a lost ball, and no more than 2 minutes looking for a lost ball in a Conservation Area.
  3. Be prepared and ready to play when the group in front of you has cleared the area.

ETIQUETTE

With respect to the honor of the game of Golf, we expect all of our patrons to adhere to the following:

  1. Respect the golf course, equipment, surroundings, local rules and other golfers at all times.
  2. Replace your divots.
  3. Rake sand traps.
  4. Repair ball marks.
  5. Adhere to on-course signs and directions when operating golf cars.

DRESS CODE

With respect to the honor of the game of Golf, we expect all of our patrons to adhere to the following:

  1. Wear appropriate golf attire such as golf shirts or mock neck shirts, pants, Bermuda style shorts, skorts, etc.
  2. Wear appropriate footwear or golf shoes, either spikeless or with soft spikes, steel spiked shoes are no longer permitted.
  3. Denim shorts or jeans, jogging/sweat pants or shorts, are not permitted on the the golf course.
  4. T-shirts and tank tops are not permitted on the golf course.
